When links are broken (for PDFs, ISOs, installers) you can try to look for and use the cached version by Google (on the drop-down menu to the left of the link there is a "Cached" menu entry). That is why it is said: "Once in the Internet, forever in the Internet".
For HTML sites, there's a way to "travel back in time".
For example to see several home pages of CNN, or PCMagazine you can use the Internet Archive site (that contains a slider that allows you to choose the date):
